Myofascial Release is a hands-on therapeutic technique that targets the fascia, a continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs throughout the body. When fascia becomes tight, restricted, or scarred due to injury, inflammation, or trauma, it can create pain, restrict movement, and exert pressure on nerves and muscles. Myofascial Release involves applying sustained pressure and gentle stretching to these restricted areas of fascia. The therapist holds the stretch for several minutes until a "release" or softening of the tissue is felt. This technique aims to restore the natural elasticity and fluidity of the fascia, alleviating pain and improving flexibility.
